The Congregation at Prayer is a weekly devotional and catechedtical guide for use in the home. The Congregation at Prayer provides a theme for the week, scripture readings and catechetical memory work as well as daily themes for prayer and a hymn of the week. Everyone is encouraged to use it in their home devotions.
Following historic practice, this Congregation at Prayer presents a continuous reading through the books of the Bible, often associating certain books with particular seasons of the Church Year. The goal is not to read through the entire Bible each year. Rather, two readings of 15-25 verses each are provided for each day-one from the Old Testament, the other from the New Testament. Under this plan, nearly all of the New Testament and approximately one-third of the Old Testament are read each year.
